Topic 3: How did mobile devices change the way people use the internet? Consider its consumer impact and relate them to a specific creative industry/profession.
What is internet? According to Google, an internet is the global system of interconnected computer networks that use the internet protocol suite (TCP/IP) to link devices worldwide. Whereas the term mobile devices refers to a wide range of consumer electronics. Mobile device typically is used to describe portable devices that can connect to the Internet. In the earliest days of the commercialized, advertising soaked internet. People have to use their desktops and laptops to search for companies, products and services. Now mobile devices have such tremendous market penetration where companies should consider how smartphones and tablets have changed the way consumers use the internet.
Mobile devices matter a great deal, whether you serve people all across the globe or focused on the local market. In fact, 78% of local business searches were made via mobile devices which transform into purchases, according to a recent report at Kissmetrics http://blog.kissmetrics.com/surprising-mobile-ecommerce/
Humanity is evolving in many ways thanks to mobile devices. But are all the changes for the better?
Topic 6: Identify a figure who is generally known to have played a major role on the internet. Evaluate if his/her contributions are justified or mythologized.
The prominent figure who has played a major role on the internet was Bill Gates, the founder of the worlds largest software business, Microsoft, with Paul Allen, and subsequently became one of the richest men in the world.
The second figure who had also played a major role on the internet was Steve Jobs who is the Co-Founder of Apple Computers with Steve Wozniak. Under Jobs' guidance, the company pioneered a series of revolutionary technologies, including the iPhone and iPad.
The third personality who had played a major role in the internet world is Larry Page who is also known as Internet Entrepreneur and Computer Scientist who had teamed up with his grad school buddy, Sergey Brin to launch the search engine Google in 1998.
Last but not the least is Sergey Brin who have created Google with Larry Page, the two becoming billionaires as Google developed into the world's most popular search engine and a media giant.
There are many other personalities who have played a major role in the internet world today but my admiration towards these four personalites who are the internet luminaries of this millennium drove me to study and explore further on their roles and contributions they have made in today's internet world.
